It is important to note that our Comrades training plans consist of training blocks, that when pieced together ensure that you arrive at Comrades in good shape, having trained enough (but not over-trained) and injury-free.
At the end of each of these training blocks, you will find a race or long run. Not all the training plans have the same amount of marathons or ultra-marathons, for example, the runners targetting a sub 7:30 Comrades will run more marathons than someone following the sub 12.
It is impossible to line the plans up with every marathon and ultra on the race schedule globally, but we have certain 'windows' where we will run a marathon or ultra.
These are generally a November marathon, a late January/early February marathon, an ultra in late March/early April and another marathon at the beginning of May.
You may find that the marathon in your schedule doesn't line up exactly with the marathon you are planning on running.
The video below will show you how to adjust your training schedule to align the training: (If you have any questions about the training, please direct those to the forum so that our coaching staff can assist you)
